Apple flesh is a good low-fat treat for dogs and safe for cats. Remove the core and seeds: the core is a choking hazard, and seeds contain trace cyanogenic compounds that matter only in large, chewed quantities, but there is no reason to include them. Slices or small cubes are the right serving shape.
