Can dogs eat cinnamon? And cats?
A dusting is harmless; powdered cinnamon in quantity irritates the mouth and lungs.
Avoid: cats are more sensitive to cinnamon compounds and essential oils.
Cinnamon is not seriously toxic, which surprises many owners, but it is not a treat either: inhaled powder irritates airways, a spoonful irritates the mouth and gut, and cinnamon essential oil is much more concentrated and worth keeping away from both species. The cinnamon roll problem is usually the raisins and the dough, not the spice.

- Coughing or choking on powder
- Mouth irritation
- Vomiting in quantity
