A staple holiday gift, amaryllis carries its toxins mostly in the bulb, exactly the part that sits exposed in decorative pots. The flowers and leaves are milder but still worth keeping away. If a pet chews the bulb, call your vet.
Signs to watch for
- Vomiting
- Drooling
- Lethargy
- Tremors with larger amounts
