Is autumn crocus toxic to dogs or cats?

Contains colchicine: severe GI and organ damage.
The same severe toxicity applies to cats.
The autumn crocus contains colchicine, which causes severe gastrointestinal signs followed by damage to the liver, kidneys, and bone marrow, sometimes days after ingestion. Spring crocuses are far less dangerous (GI upset only), so knowing which one you have matters. When unsure, treat it as the bad one.
Signs to watch for
- Severe vomiting
- Bloody diarrhea
- Weakness
- Organ damage days later
